The Fun in the ʼ50s digitization project is off to a great start! During the month of December, we digitized 955 slides. The first slides we scanned were originally taken during the winter. Included in these slides were pictures of four different Christmas parades, a square dance, and children sledding at the TPA Park as well as Camp Cullom. A few of these pictures can be seen on our Facebook page. As we move ahead with this digitization project, we will continue to make “Flashback Friday” postings on Facebook. We encourage the public to look at these postings, identify the individuals pictured, and share memories of these events. We look forward to receiving your input.
This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Indiana State Library. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums. Its mission is to inspire libraries and museums to advance innovation, lifelong learning, and cultural and civic engagement.
