Part One; Libby from Overdrive
Frankfort Community Public Library provides many digital resources which are available 24 hours a day with an internet connection and a library card. A perfect example is Libby, an e-book/audio-book application. Transforming a mobile device (tablet or smartphone) into a mini-library is quick and easy; first download the Libby app from Google Play or Apple App Store. Once it is opened choose, “Find My Library”.
Next, pick “Indiana Digital Media, Public Library Branch and “Frankfort Community Public Library”.
Browsing for new reads on Libby is fun with book covers displayed and categorized under convenient topics; “Terrific & True Audiobooks”, “Legal Eagles”, “Indiana @ 200”. Recommendations improve with each check out as Libby learns reader preferences.
Libby houses all checked out items, audiobooks and e-books, in one location and transferring from library to shelf requires only a click.
Additional features include the ability to set user preferences such as font size (e-books) or narration speed (audiobooks). Also, readers may highlight, save notes, look up word definitions, and search text all within the app. For more help with Libby or any of FCPL’s e-resources call the library, (765) 654-8746, and ask for reference.
