TITLE: Literacy Coordinator

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time non-exempt, 24 hours a week. Nights and weekends as scheduled.

SUMMARY: The Literacy Coordinator will provide quality library service, materials, and programs to children and adults at the Frankfort Community Public Library, the three branch locations, and in the community. This position oversees the day to day operation of the Family Literacy Program.

Some responsibilities and duties for this position will include, but are not limited to: providing literacy and tutoring services for patrons and the community, planning and implementing programs and classes at the library and in the community, grant work, fundraising, advocacy, programming, report writing, committee work, collection development as well as other tasks as assigned by the Youth Services Supervisor or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree or High School Diploma and extensive experience working with children and/or families as well as teaching, public speaking, fundraising experience. Must be able to obtain Indiana Librarian Certification 6 (LC6). A valid drivers license is also required.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, grant writing experience, and previous library experience are highly preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION: Starts at $15/hr

TITLE: Youth Services Clerk

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time non-exempt, 24 hours a week. Nights and weekends as scheduled.

SUMMARY: The Youth Services Clerk will provide quality library service, materials and programs to preschool, school aged children, young adults, and adult patrons at Frankfort and the branch libraries.

Some responsibilities and duties for this position will include, but are not limited to: staffing the Youth Services desks, shelving, shelf reading, assisting with programs, checking out materials, cleaning toys and other tasks as assigned by the Youth Services Supervisor or Director.

Must be able to physically move book carts and shelve books on both high and low shelves as well as file books accurately alphabetically by author and by Dewey numbers.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma is required. Previous experience with children and in a library is preferred, but not required.
