Summer Reading is June 15-July 31 at the Frankfort Community Public Library and branches in Michigantown, Mulberry, and Rossville. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story!” Summer Reading kicks off on June 15 at noon with an Online Magic Show featuring Dan the Magician! Dan created this magic show especially for the residents of Clinton County. Tune in June 15-19 on our Facebook page. Dan will also teach six magic lessons throughout the summer.
Make-It, Take-It, Share-It Kits & Virtual Programming
This year, the library is introducing virtual programming paired with “Take-It, Make-It, Share-It Kits.” Each packet or “kit” will include all of the supplies needed to create various crafts, STEAM, and story time projects developed specifically for different age groups. Pick up your kit at the library (Take-It), put it together (Make-It), and then “Share-It” by snapping a picture and posting to social media. Tag the library (@myfpcl) in your post so we can see your creations! Each kit will coincide with educational and fun online programs. We will post the programs on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page throughout the summer.
Registration is required to receive kits. Descriptions and registration will be available beginning June 1 on the library’s calendar at www.myfcpl.org/calendar. If you need help with registration, you may also call the library at (765) 654-8746. Kits will be available for pick up at the library beginning June 15. The Summer Reading kits are made possible in part by a grant from the Ransom Family Advised Endowment Fund and the Clinton County Community Foundation.
Introducing, Engaged Readers
Another feature for the 2020 Summer Reading Program is a new online reading tracker! Register online at myfcpl.org/read. You can record the books you read, and keep track of the programs you complete. There will even be a website treasure hunt! Paper trackers are available upon request for those without internet. You could win a gift card to a local business or the grand prize, which is a brand new tablet!
