Kid Friendly Podcasts

The holidays are here and with the holidays comes a lot of traveling. With kids, traveling can be a little daunting. As parents, we look for things to help keep them occupied. One way that I have found to keep my kids entertained in the car is with kid-friendly podcasts. Whether we are going on a short or long drive, I will turn on one of their favorite podcasts. They are also good to listen to just hanging out in the house. You can stream them through your computer, Ipad, Kindle or phone.

For any one unfamiliar, a podcast is a digital audio file that can be downloaded to a computer or other mobile device. It is kind of like listening to the radio. The best part is that the shows you want to listen to are available on-demand. To listen to a podcast, you may be able to go directly to the website and listen there or you can download an app that is specifically for podcasts. Some popular apps are: ApplePodcasts (only available for Apple IOS), Stitcher, SoundCloud, Podbay.fm, and KidsListen (only available for Apple IOS).

Some pros of kids listening to podcast:

  • Pros
    • Boost learning
    • Reduces screen time
    • They can go anywhere
    • Free
