Miss Tandra’s Book Review

My son, husband, and I absolutely love Pokémon. What is Pokémon? Pokémon started as a video game, then trading card game and then much more in Japan. Now, Pokémon is popular all over the world.  Pokémon are creatures of all shapes and sizes who live in the wild or alongside humans. When not in the wild, Pokémon can be captured by humans with a Pokéball. Once captured the Pokémon’s owner becomes his “Trainer”. In most games, players play as Trainers to undertake adventures with their Pokémon in search of new types of Pokémon to add to their collection, participate in battles with other Trainers and Gym Leaders to obtain Gym Badges and to explore mystical new lands.

I just read a book by Sara Green, part of the Brands We Know Pilot Book series, named Pokémon. It was an information superhighway for almost all things Pokémon. From how it all began and who the imaginative mind is behind it, to a Pokémon timeline. I learned so much, like how Pokémon is Japanese for pocket monster. There are lots of great pictures and each page has a small factoid.

This was a very good book and an interesting read. If you are a Pokémon fan you will want this for your bookshelf. Even if you have never heard of Pokémon or do not think you’ll be interested, this book will have the answer for you. It is fun for children and adults alike.
