Miss Tandra’s Book Review

I was just tickled pink by the end of a book called, Grumpy Pants written and illustrated by Claire Messer. It was the simplest but most spot-on book. It is about a penguin just having a bad day for not any particular reason. I don’t know about you, but I think we have all had that kind of day. Irritable and not quite sure why.

Since this penguin does not know why he is grumpy, he is not sure how to be un-grumpy again. So, he takes his clothes off one by one, and he still feels cranky. He decides to take a dive in a cool bath. Slowly, he began to feel better. After his bath and his favorite book, he went to sleep happy because he washed all his grumpiness away. That put a big smile on my face.

This story touches anyone who has ever has an embarrassing hissy fit. Emotions are hard, and sometimes they get the best of us. This book shows you there is always tomorrow, and it is usually better with a good attitude. The illustrations are bold, bright, and so sweet. I liked this book, and I connect with the character because my loved ones and myself also need to wash the grouchy away some days. I love a happy ending and if you do too, try this book out!
