101 Amazing Facts About FISH by Jack Goldstein is marvelous. Although I am not sure who did the photography for this book, they are exceptionally good photos. At the very beginning of the book, there is an introduction like most books. I thought it was well written in a casual, tempting way, that made you want to dive right in! (Pun intended!)
The book is broken into two parts. Part 1 and part 2 both have general facts, unusual fish facts, and an amazing facts category. Part one also has a seahorse fact page and a “did you know?” fact page. Part 2 also has a shark fact page and a record breakers fact page.
I thought this book was great! I happen to own two fish tanks, one just recently, and so I guess you could say I have a passion for water living animals. I love all animals, but fish are one of my favorite pets by far! They live long, they don’t make any noise, and they can be really calming.
At the very end of the book it says something like we have only seen around 1% of the oceans in the world. And that there are likely to be lots of species of which we are presently oblivious to. That is so cool, and mind blowing to me. If you like learning about fish like I do, check this book out. It is beyond interesting, surprising, and a pleasure to read. There is also “101 Amazing Facts About BIRDS”, “101 Amazing Facts About ANIMALS”, and “101 Amazing Facts About INSECTS and other ARTHROPODS” by Jack Goldstein as well! Enjoy!
