Since Mother’s Day was this month, I thought I would do some of my book reviews this week on mothers or Mother’s Day. I found a book titled Mother’s Day written by Ann Heinrichs. It is illustrated by R.W. Alley. It is part of the “Holidays and Celebrations” series. It is perfect for this review because it even has a chapter that explains how Mother’s Day began.
Almost every page has a little mother poem, fact, or simply a line from a known or an unknown author about mothers. I loved that. I think this is a great book for anyone of any age. I also think this is a great book for children who would like to know how holidays started and all about them. I think this book shows how important mothers are, and how they must be celebrated and honored.
The illustrations are simple small drawings that show a mother’s love. This book is very educational as well. There is even a recipe in this book for making French toast for a mom’s special breakfast in bed. Also, there is a direction page for making a Mother’s Day gift box.
So, this book has it all. It is lovely and I highly recommend it. I would love to see people everywhere reading this to children to help explain how important moms are. And the importance of this holiday. I cannot stress enough how much I liked this book and any books that teach you about the important holidays we love to celebrate. Hope you appreciate it and much as I did! Enjoy!
