Noteworthy Hoosiers

It’s common knowledge that actor James Dean, basketballer Larry Bird and actor/comedian Red Skelton were all born in Indiana.  But there are many other personalities you may not have known were native Hoosiers.  Legendary actor Steve McQueen was born in Beech Grove.  Chuck Taylor, of Converse (“Chucks”) shoe fame was born in Azalia, Indiana.  Adam Driver, known for his portrayal of Star Wars villain Kylo Ren was born in Mishawaka.  Robert Wise, Oscar-winning director of West Side Story and The Sound of Music grew up in Winchester, Indiana.  Jenna Fisher—“Pam” from The Office television series–is from Ft. Wayne.   Author Meg Cabot (The Princess Diaries) is from Bloomington.  Writer John Green (The Fault In Our Stars) is from Indianapolis. Steve Kroft, 60 Minutes correspondent, is from Kokomo.
