
Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m. : The Eva Kor PBS documentary, one-hour screening edition will be shown in the Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatra. This is recommended for ages 10 and up. This is a FREE event, no registration is required. Stay for the community discussion after the viewing, this will be led by Jamie Anderson.
Tuesday, March 5 at 6 p.m.: Come sample some delicious treats from Mama Ines Mexican Bakery in Harry’s Coffee Bar. We will have hot chocolate, coffee and water available. The owner and operator of Mama Ines Mexican Bakery, Rosa Gaeta Cornejo will be a speaker at 3 p.m. at the Women’s Expo. Rosa immigrated to the United States from Mexico. She is now the successful business owner of four bakeries. This is a FREE event and open to everyone.
Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m.: We will be having a book discussion on Janis Thornton’s book Too Good a Girl: Remembering Olene Emberton and the Mystery of Her Death. This will be led by Jamie Anderson in Harry’s Coffee Bar. There are copies available to check out and also signed copies available to purchase for $13. Visit the Frankfort Library circulation desk for details. Janis Thornton will discuss the unsolved murder and bring former Howard County Sheriff, Marty Talbert along for questions. Marty reopened the case in the 1990s. She will speak at 10 a.m. at the Women’s Expo in the Elizabether O’Rear Skanta Theatre. Janis worked at the The Times in Frankfort for five years in the 2000s. She said this is where she learned her investigation skills to write Too Good a Girl.
