Small Mistake on Concert Ticket

For those of you that have already bought your 2019-2020 Friends of the Library Concert Tickets, there is a small mistake on your Kennedy’s Kitchen (blue) ticket. The date on the ticket says Saturday, January 20th. The 20th is a Monday. The date should say Saturday, January 18th at 7:30 p.m. We have hand corrected the changes today (10/29/19.) I am really sorry for any confusion. Thank you to those that have already purchased your series tickets. There are still plenty of tickets available and can be purchased up till our first concert on November 9th at 2 p.m. featuring Friction Farm.

Individual and Series Tickets can be purchased now. Series Tickets are $40 for four concerts. Individual tickets are $13 a piece. You may purchase them at the library circulation desk with a check, cash or credit card. You may also reserve them over the phone with a credit card.

Friction Farm

The 27th year for the concert series will kick off on November 9 at 2 p.m.  This concert featuring Friction Farm will take place during the Friends of the Library 39th Annual Fine Art Exhibition & Sale. Modern-folk duo Friction Farm is a husband and wife team from Greenville, South Carolina. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems each song is filled with harmony and hope.

Kennedy’s Kitchen

Kennedy’s Kitchen will be gracing the Skanta stage again on January 18, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.  Their music is rooted in traditional Irish Music, jigs, reels, hornpipes, recitations, stories, and songs…..adding their own compositions along the way.

Lafayette Symphony Orchestra (9 piece Brass Band)

The third of the series will be the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra bringing their 9 piece brass band on March 7, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.  The idea for the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra was hatched in 1949 and in the 70 years since the inception of the Orchestra, the organization has grown immensely. Their home is the Long Center for Performing Arts in Lafayette, IN.

Mickey James & the Queen City Crew

Mickey James & The Queen City Crew will perform on May 9th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. The 6-piece Queen City Crew is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. They will provide the perfect combination of Classic and Contemporary Swing, Jazz, R&B, Blues, Rock & Roll, and many other styles.
