The members of the Frankfort Community Public Library Teen Advisory Board are 9th-12th graders hailing from local schools and homeschools. Members complete an application process that includes employment-style interviews with library staff. The students answer questions about leadership skills, advocacy, and their hope to serve the community. Each member agrees to fulfill four hours of volunteer service a year, attend regular meetings, plan teen department events, and serve as library leaders. Serving on the Board provides students with professional experience and recommendations for future jobs, college, and scholarships. Past members of the Board have volunteered in Harry Coffee Bar, Summer Reading events, the Family Literacy Program, and for the Annual Art Show. Some past members translated their work into employment at the Library. Interested in joining the Teen Advisory Board? Click here to download an application.
